Description of the video:

What is CitizIN?
CitizIN is an interactive game that explores 200 years of Indiana history and culture.
CitizIN uses Primary Source documents, photographs, maps, political cartoons, and other items
to engage players in learning about Indiana and its citizens.
CitizIN includes six chronological eras of Indiana history including:
From territory to early statehood, the Civil War, industrialization, world wars, and the Great Depression,
the turbulent post-war years, and Hoosiers in the 21st century.
Playing is easy: First, choose a story from the story menu.
Each story begins with a short video that provides a brief summary of the events and turning points of the time period.
Next, you'll see the Primary Sources menu.
Once you select the source, just follow the prompts on the screen.
You can pinch the image in and out to adjust the size.
Match key words or image details to each resource by dragging the thumbnails onto the resource.
Correct placement of the thumbnail launches a series of multiple-choice questions.
After you answer the questions, "Dig Deeper" will provide further background and context for each resource.
The CitizIN game features a gallery of all the Primary Resources used in the game.
You can immerse yourself into events and activities of each period by playing a mini-game about that era.
You can assess your knowledge with "Knowledge Check" questions, and rack up points with the "Trivia Challenge."
If you ever need help, just click on the question mark to launch a help screen.
The CitizIN website has many supporting resources including the "Teacher Toolbox."
It features learning objectives, activities correlated to Indiana academic standards, and a bank of multiple-choice and essay questions in response to the Indiana legislature's recommendation that schools offer a course in Indiana studies.
CitizIN was developed by the Center on Representative Government as a companion to the books, "Hoosiers and the American Story," and, "Hoosiers: A New History of Indiana."
In partnership with the Indiana University Bicentennial Office, and libraries, museums, and other institutions throughout the state.
Play the game. Get engaged.
